Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

We provide medically prescribed pediatric behavioral therapies to individuals age 20 and younger with a diagnosis in which behavioral therapy is recognized as an evidence-based treatment, including but not limited to diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).  

Home-based ABA behavioral therapy services include an individualized functional behavior assessment (FBA), conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).  The FBA is one of the tools the BCBA uses to inform treatment plan recommendations, such as the number of therapy hours prescribed in order to meet plan goals. The BCBA is the lead clinician and provides ongoing oversight and supervision to the treatment team (therapist, caregivers, other providers) to ensure that everyone implementing the plan knows what to do, when to do it and how to do it. The therapists, registered behavior technicians (RBTs) provide the direct therapies to the individual in order to build functional skills and reduce challenging behaviors outlined in the treatment plan. 

The BCBA provides ongoing and practical caregiver training to make sure that the skills worked on in the home setting are not only meaningful to the individual and their family members, but also that the skills learned generalize to other environments, such as in the community.  The BCBA provides ongoing coordination of care with other service providers (school-based therapies, other medical therapies) when appropriate to increase outcomes.
